Retirement of Judge Gold and Magistrate Weatherhead

Judge Rosemary Grdina Gold retired from the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations Court after serving on the bench for 10 years.

Judge Gold was appointed in April 2010 by Governor Ted Strickland to fill the vacancy on the Court crate by the retirement of Judge Timothy M. Flanagan. She was elected in November 2010 to serve the remainder of the term and won reelection in 2014 to a new term that expired January 7, 2021. Judge Gold served as the Division's Administrative Judge for two years in 2016 and 2017. Before joining the Court, she practiced family and civil litigation law for over 27 years. 

 

 Magistrate Ann Weatherhead retired January 2020, after 33 years as a referee and magistrate with the Domestic Relations Court. After joining the Domestic Relations Court, she served as a Trustee of the Ohio Association of Magistrates and chaired its Domestic Relations practice group. In 2007, she was awarded the OAM's Education Award. In 2011, she was awarded the OAM's first President's Award for establishing a program where magistrates volunteer in the communities where Association conferences are held. Magistrate authored the spousal support chapter in Baldwin's Ohio Practice, Sowald and Morganstern, Domestic Relations Law.  Magistrate Weatherhead also served as Chief Magistrate from 2018 to 2020.
