Rule 6: Communications with Judges and Magistrates

(A) Ex Parte Communications. No attorney shall discuss the merits either orally or in writing, of any litigation with any judge or magistrate presiding over the matter until final disposition thereof without the presence of opposing counsel or the party, if not represented.
(B) Attorney Conferences. If it is determined that an issue in a pending action needs to be discussed with a judge or magistrate prior to hearing or disposition of the action, the attorney desiring said conference may, with notice to opposing counsel, request a conference with the judge or magistrate.
(Effective July 1, 1991. Amended effective December 11, 2000.)
